No more discrimination against iAugs and penguin-loving Hanzers.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will release on Mac and Linux later this year, according to port developer Feral Interactive. This marks the first time a Deus Ex game will be natively playable on Linux, while continuing the tradition of Mac ports for the series (excluding the fruitcake that was Deus Ex: Invisible War).

The game will likely be ported as-is to the announced platforms, with no special enhancements announced so far. The official site for the ports confirms that Breach will be included.

The Mac port will use Apple’s Metal graphics API, but details on the Linux port are scant at the moment. With DirectX not an option for that platform, OpenGL and Vulkan seem likely choices for the Linux port. It should also be interesting to see if the game will retain Denuvo protection on the Mac and Linux ports.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was originally released worldwide on Aug. 23 for Windows, PS4 and Xbox One. Here’s what we thought about it when it came out.
