Payday 3’s Early Access phase has been a little rocky, as there are still reports of players experiencing errors keeping them from playing. As not being able to play isn’t exactly the point, I’m here to help. If you’re experiencing the nebula data error in Payday 3, I can offer a few possible solutions.

Payday 3 Nebula Data Error Fix

To play Payday 3, players are pushed through a Nebula service to sign up and create an account. The problem is that so many players have been going through this process it has overloaded it, and new players are being prevented from completing the process.

Judging by a tweet released by the developers, these errors can be chalked up to authentication issues. These issues are also affecting matchmaking, and it might be keeping players from actually playing the game.

Unfortunately, as this error is entirely specific to an internal system and servers, there isn’t anything players can do but be patient as the devs work to fix things. They are aware of it, and that should be a good sign for anyone who has been encountering these problems. It is likely that players are also experiencing a network error that they cannot resolve themselves.

Edit: As of 2:01 PM ET on Sept. 22, here we go again, cases are rising for this specific issue once more and I’m stuck waiting around to heist. Hopefully servers this weekend are better…

Has the Nebula Data Error Been Fixed Yet?

As of 12:12 PM ET on Sept. 21, the devs have announced that authentication issues that have been causing issues with the game’s launch have been squashed.

This isn’t to say this issue won’t return. With the game’s full launch, it’s understandable that Nebula is being overloaded with the large influx of players. You’re far likelier to see fewer issues after the game has been released, and they’ve nailed down exactly how much stress is being put on their systems.

I will be sure to keep an eye on the situation and update the guide as circumstances with the nebula data error change so players can know when the issues are smoothed out. If you are experiencing other errors I’m not aware of yet, let us know in the comments, and I’ll be happy to investigate.
