Elden Ring: All Stats Explained

If you’re new to Soulsborne games or if you’ve been playing since Demon’s Souls, it’s important to know all about your stats and what they mean. If you’re trying to increase your max HP but you keep spending runes on increasing Endurance, then you won’t get very far towards your goal. If you want to make sure you’re putting your runes to good use, then here are all of the stats from Elden Ring explained.

All Stats in Elden Ring Explained

For how much of the gameplay in Elden Ring is focused on mastering the style of combat that suits your playstyle, it’s still very much an RPG that has a massive focus on stats. Down below are lists of stats broken up into categories as you can find them in the menus of Elden Ring along with how they affect your character.

Attribute Points

  • Vigor – Increases HP, Fire Resistance, Immunity
  • Mind – Increases FP, Focus
  • Endurance – Increases Stamina, Robustness, Equip Load
  • Strength – Required for heavy equipment use, increases Physical Attack Damage, Physical Defense
  • Dexterity – Required for some light equipment use, decreases casting time for spells, fall damage, makes it harder to get knocked off of Torrent
  • Intelligence – Required for Sorceries, increases Magic Attack Damage for Sorceries, Magic Resistance
  • Faith – Required for Incantations, increases Magic Attack Damage for Incantations
  • Arcane – Increases Discovery, Vitality, Holy Defense, required for certain Incantations

Base Stats

  • HP – This is your life. Run out and you die. Replenish by resting at a Site of Grace or consuming a Flask of Crimson Tears.
  • FP – Focus Points. These are consumed when using Incantations and Sorceries. Replenish by resting at a site of grace or consuming a Flask of Cerulean Tears.
  • Stamina – Required for running, rolling, blocking, attacking, and sprinting with Torrent. Replenishes automatically.
  • Equip Load – Total weight of equipped equipment. Movement slows as this number increases.
  • Poise – Higher Poise makes it harder for enemies to knock you off of your feet.
  • Discovery – Increases the chance of finding items on defeated enemies.
  • Memory Slots – Number of available slots for Incantations and Sorceries.

Defense/Dmg Negation

  • Physical – Indicates level of damage negation against physical attacks.
  • VS Strike – Indicates level of damage negation against striking physical attacks.
  • VS Slash – Indicates level of damage negation against slashing physical attacks.
  • VS Pierce – Indicates level of damage negation against piercing physical attacks.
  • Magic – Indicates level of damage negation against magic-based attacks.
  • Fire – Indicates level of damage negation fire-based attacks.
  • Lightning – Indicates level of damage negation against lightning-based attacks.
  • Holy – Indicates level of damage negation against holy-based attacks.

Resistance

  • Immunity – Resistance to Poisons and Blights
  • Robustness – Resistance to Hemmorhage and Frostbite
  • Focus – Resistance to Sleep and Madness
  • Vitality – Resistance to instant death

Attack Power (Armaments)

  • Physical – Displays damage stat of current physical armament plus bonuses.
  • Magic – Displays damage stat of current magical armament plus bonuses.
  • Fire – Displays damage stat of current fire armament plus bonuses.
  • Lightning – Displays damage stat of current lightning armament plus bonuses.
  • Holy – Displays damage stat of current holy armament plus bonuses.
  • Critical – Displays damage stat of current critical damage armament plus bonuses.
  • Sorcery Scaling – Indicates how much armament damage scales based on Intelligence attribute.
  • Incantation Scaling – Indicates how much armament damage scales based on Faith attribute.
  • Range – Indicates how far a projectile armament can fire.

Equipment Stats (Head, Chest, Arms, & Legs)

  • Weight – How much a piece of equipment adds to your Equip Load.
  • Physical – Indicates equipment’s level of damage negation for incoming physical attacks.
  • VS Strike – Indicates equipment’s level of damage negation for incoming striking physical attacks.
  • VS Slash – Indicates equipment’s level of damage negation for incoming slashing physical attacks.
  • VS Pierce – Indicates equipment’s level of damage negation for incoming piercing physical attacks.
  • Magic – Indicates equipment’s level of damage negation for incoming magic-based attacks.
  • Fire – Indicates equipment’s level of damage negation for incoming fire-based attacks.
  • Lightning – Indicates equipment’s level of damage negation for incoming lightning-based attacks.
  • Holy – Indicates equipment’s level of damage negation for incoming holy-based attacks.
  • Immunity – Indicates equipment’s level of resistance to incoming Poison and Blight.
  • Robustness – Indicates equipment’s level of resistance to incoming Hemmorhage and Frostbite.
