It’s time to save the world again.
Bravely Default was a surprising JRPG on the 3DS in 2012, that hearkened back to the glory days of some of the older Final Fantasy titles. We’ve been waiting on any word for the second game’s North American release date for a while now, and we finally got that confirmation yesterday when Nintendo announced Bravely Second: End Layer would be hitting the U.S. on April 15, 2016.
Today, Nintendo of Europe released a new English story trailer that gives us a little background on what’s happening within the world of Luxendarc. You’ll see a couple of familiar faces in the trailer if you’ve played Bravely Default, and here’s an overview of the story from the game’s European website.
When the evil Kaiser Oblivion abducts Agnès Oblige, the heroine of Bravely Default, and her bodyguard Yew Geneolgia pledges to rescue her from the kaiser’s Skyhold, an impregnable fortress floating high over Eternia. Along the way, Yew will need to team up with Magnolia Arch and other new faces, plus a few returning heroes like Edea Lee and Tiz Arrior, to survive foreboding dungeons and conquer fearsome enemies.
Bravely Second will arrive in North America on April 15, 2016 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. A Demo for the game will be available for the game sometime before release, and there’s also a collectors edition of the game that was announced yesterday. Take a look at the story trailer below and let us know what you think about it.
