Gamescom 2015 Award Winners Announced; Star Wars Battlefront Cleans Up

And the winners are…

Gamescom 2015 has been a wild ride this year. Microsoft hit the stage hard, showcasing exclusives like Quantum Break, Scalebound, and Crackdown 3. EA had an outstanding showing as well, which was all but stolen by the heartwarming Unravel yet again.

The list of Gamescom award winners, the cream of the crop at the annual conference, has been officially released. Star Wars Battlefront and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain impressively garnered a collective 7 awards out of the 18 categories.

Star Wars Battlefront took a decisive lead this year, grabbing the Best of Gamescom award, Most Wanted Comsumer Award, Best Console Game Sony PlayStation, Best PC Game, and Best Online Multiplayer Game. You can check out their press briefing, complete with doom-y Darth Vader appearance, below.

While the upcoming EA title swept the field this year, it didn’t manage to snag the seat of Best Xbox Game, perhaps because Star Wars: Battlefront was only playable on PC and PS4 at the event.

Destiny: The Taken King and Final Fantasy XV saw new trailers and details at Gamescom, as well.
