If you love throwing your enemy and staying right up in your opponent’s face, then the Commando variation is the one for you. In Commando mode, Kano ditches the laser and knife attacks for some up close and personal grapple attacks. Throws are unblockable, so if you can get your timing right, you can definitely use this variation abuse players that rely on blocking too much. This variation also comes packed with counter moves as well. Giving you more survivability while you’re up close and personal.

Kano Ball: Back, Forward, X

Up Ball: Down, Back, Triangle

Blade Throw: Down, Forward, Triangle

Cutthroat

If you want to get the most out of Kano’s Cutthroat variation, you’re going to have to play aggressively. His signature move in this variation is the Power Up ability which does damage over time to Kano while powering up his attacks. If that sounds too risky to you, you can enhance it and avoid the damage over time while powering up your attacks even further. In addition, Kano works his knife into his repertoire, adding two new specials in addition to new kombos as well. Stay on the offensive, use his ball attacks to close in on the enemy fighter, and work the unique knife abilities into your attacks.

Kano Ball: Back, Forward, X

Up Ball: Down, Back, Triangle

Cybernetic

When Kano is in Cybernetic mode, it’s a little more about finesse than brute force. He gains additional ranged abilities through use of his various eye laser attacks and the Knife Toss. The eye lasers are perfect for mixing into longer kombo strings while the Knife Toss gives Kano a long range attack without having to risk being blocked or having to put yourself in harms way. If a balanced approach between ranged and melee is more your style, definitely go for the Cybernetic variation.
