Gears of War fans will no doubt be excited for the multiplayer beta which is due to launch on April 18 for Xbox One players. Those of you who have purchased Gears of War Ultimate Edition will get access to the beta early, whilst other players will have to wait until April 24.
Rod Furgusson, Studio Head of Gears of War 4’s developer, The Coalition, has revealed on Twitter that the beta will not be available to pre-load before it goes live. This is hardly devastating news, but it’s worth knowing for those of you who might have been looking out for a pre-load option.

Pre-loading is becoming more and more common in this digital age and allows players to download a game before it’s officially released. This means that when the game goes live, you can play it right away without having to wait for the title to install.
Furgusson also confirmed that beta codes will be sent out in waves in order to stop the beta from becoming overloaded by players. Gears of War 4 is due to be released on October 11 for the Xbox One.
