Forza Horizon tasks players with becoming the very best driver at the festival. You’ll have to prove your skills in a number of different races, from circuits, A-B races, and some promotional events too. Of course, in order to keep up with the racers at the very top of the rankings you’re going to need to improve your ride. Or heck, maybe you’re just gonna buy a new one. Either way, you’re going to need money. Here’s a couple of quick and easy ways to get a bunch of money.
First things first, you’ll want to turn up the difficulty of the AI racers. While you may enjoy leading the pack by a couple of miles, it isn’t the best way to make the most out of your races. Upping the difficulty will grant a percentage boost to the amount of credits earned. The boost depends on how the difficulty level you set it at, so it’s always best to set it to a point where you can still win, but you’ve at least got a bit of a challenge for first place.
With the opposition well and truly accommodated for, you’ll want to now move onto changing up your assists on your car. While some things like traction control, ABS, and transmission type can greatly alter the way the car feels, you can also change some of the assists that the game provides for you such as steering, braking, and cornering.
Turning these off so that it’s all down to your own skill can significantly increase the amount of money you’re winning from races. If you’re capable of driving without traction control, ABS, or any of the other systems commonly found on real-life cars then feel free to reap the rewards. Novices be warned, though, these do make handling and cornering much more difficult.
Once you’ve sorted out all of the different ways to boost your earnings, it’s time to make the most of the other drivers and the different events at the festival. One of the best ways to earn money quickly is by competing in street races with other drivers. To compete in street races, you’ll need to head to one of the Street Race Hubs located across the map. The first one is at Race Central, so you’ll want to head there first.
These races are checkpoint based, and may have specific car requirements, so just watch out for these. Each street race is free to enter, but they reward you with a huge chunk of money for winning them. Combine this with your bonuses for tweaking the difficulty and assists and these are a great source of income.
Alongside street races, the promotional event races are also a great way to earn a good wad of cash, and a sweet new ride. These will often have you facing off against a plane, or task you with completing a checkpoint race in a super fast car within a certain time. As long as you keep your nerve and focus on the road, you shouldn’t have a problem completing these.
Finally, try jumping online and playing around. This is one of the easiest ways to get money quickly in Forza Horizon. Each time you level up online (which is incredibly easy), you’ll get a random prize. This could either be a fast car, which if you don’t like you can always sell, or a ton of credits. Either way, in a short amount of time you’ll find yourself accruing more credits than you know what to do with. Even that Lamborghini will be within your price range.
