No Man’s Sky Will Include Free Weekly Content Updates Following NEXT Update

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

No Man’s Sky is about to welcome the massive new NEXT content update tomorrow, but that won’t be the end of the next batch of additions to the game as time marches on. In addition to releasing this free chunk of goodies, Hello Games’ Sean Murray has taken to the official No Man’s Sky blog to announce that more weekly content updates will be on their way in the future.

Murray says that the content will not include microtransactions or loot boxes and will indeed by 100% free. It’ll also include new events and community missions for players to embark on, with the first of the weekly updates coming next week, after NEXT has had time to sizzle on the grill after its release date tomorrow on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. There isn’t any current information on what type of missions will be included, but this sure means there will be plenty for players to do.

Also, Hello Games has just launched the new Galactic Atlas website, which allows players to check out in-game events on the Galaxy Map to create their own points of interest and invite players to their favorite areas in the galaxy thus far. After a somewhat shaky start when the game first launched, it appears to finally be finding its footing.
