I Am Setsuna, despite being an awesome classic-style JRPG, has a few flaws. One of those flaws is how it fails to explain clearly some of its most important features, especially when it comes to combat. If you’re here reading this, you’re probably feeling that right about now.
Flux bonuses are especially important in I Am Setsuna because they can add permanent and powerful alterations onto your favorite spritnite (Tech) abilities. Learning how to trigger Fluxations in I Am Setsuna is an important skill if you want to have an edge over your enemies.
It starts with the talisman that you can equip onto each character. Talisman, more directly, control the amount of Spritnite/Tech slots that you can equip to each character and sometimes have a bonus effect such as being able to see the HP of the enemy. However, some talismans also carry a Flux Bonus such as Defense Power. These bonuses can be added to your spritnite after a battle concludes when certain conditions are met.
Activating a Flux is kind of mysterious, but the key to it getting it go is momentum, which you can read about how to use here if you need to. It requires a bit of luck, but if you use your momentum while wearing the correct talisman, you will sometimes activate a Flux and get the correct bonus to permanently add to your spritnite.
As I Am Setsuna puts it: “Fluxation makes it possible to greatly alter spritnite stones according to one’s personal preference, meaning that completely unique variants can be created.” So if you want greater control, and customization over your I Am Setsuna party members, using Fluxation in your favor is a way to do it.
That just about does it for Flux! Have fun customizing your party members, your way.
