Gamescom 2020 is teaming up with IGN and Webedia to produce daily showcases during the event, it has been announced today. The former will handle English presentations, while the latter is running the German side of proceedings.
IGN’s coverage begins on the Saturday following Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live, between Aug. 27 – 30. It kicks off with the Daily Show, in which well-known host Michael Swaim will present the highlights of the Gamescom day and the diversity of the gaming world in the show produced by IGN. He will discuss themes like cosplay, e-sports, and more.
Webedia will run its own Daily Show on the Friday and Saturday.
IGN’s coverage also includes the Awesome Indies presentation, which is said to put a spotlight on some of the most original and exciting games coming out of the indie developer scene. Viewers receive insight into the latest games, trends, and developments of the scene in exciting interviews and discussions with developers and influencers. There is an opportunity to play, to take part in contests, and to celebrate together with the best of the best from the indie world.
Finally, Gamescom’s Best of Show presentation will conclude the event, recapping its highlights. The winners of cosplay competition represent its big finale.

All Gamescom 2020 show content will be available globally at the Gamescom now content hub, as well as on all channels of the partners worldwide, the Gamescom app, and other platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and Facebook
