PQube has announced that they’ll be releasing the visual novel Steins;Gate 0 in North America and Europe in 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The game is a sequel to the popular sci-fi visual novel turned into anime series, Steins;Gate.
Steins:Gate 0 takes place after the original game, exploring a branch of one of the alternate endings. Okabe Rintaro, otherwise known as mad scientist Kyouma Hououin, returns along with the other members of the Future Gadget Labs and some new faces. The story revolves around the creation of an AI called “Amadeus” that allows its users to interact with the memories of another person.
A trailer for Steins;Gate 0 will be shown at London MCM Comic Con this coming weekend. If you’re at the show you can even whisper Okabe’s password “El Psy Congroo” to the staff at the Rice Digital Booth to receive a free poster.
If you haven’t played the original game, you can purchase it from the game’s official website or download it over PSN for the PlayStation Vita. The visual novel also has an anime adaption that can be watched on either Hulu or Funimation’s website with a subscription.
