A new update for Valve’s tiny game streaming box Steam Link will allow anyone to stream their PC games from anywhere.

The initiative, called Steam Link Anywhere, is currently in beta and offers to stream Steam games from anywhere outside of a home network connection. Previously, the device needed to be on the same wi-fi or hard-wired network as the computer being streamed from to work.

According to Valve, the new feature will allow game streaming anywhere “as long as your computer has good upload speed and your Steam Link device has a good network connection” and provided directions to activate it, which requires updating the Steam client to the latest beta build.

Valve quietly discontinued the main Steam Link hardware last November, though said it would continue to support the device and software through other products. The software is currently available on specific Raspberry Pi hardware, select Samsung smart televisions, and on Android through the Google Play store.
