The game has passed 300,000 pre-registrations in Japan since they were made available on Feb 7.

If you’re unfamiliar with the title, it’s co-developed by Disgaea’s own creators at Nippon Ichi Software, bringing back its worldview and story, including pretty much all of the characters in the series. It also features a turn-based battle system designed for smartphones and many familiar elements from the series. Players can grow their characters all the way up to level 9,999, dealing over 100,000,000 damage to enemies during battles.

Of course, it’s free to play with plenty of gacha to keep players busy.

Makai Senki Disgaea RPG will release in Japan at a yet unspecified date for iOS and Android. Like all of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s mobile games created under the Forwardworks label, no western release has been announced.

The house of PlayStation created ForwardWorks to break into the mobile market in 2016. While the label released games from popular IPs like Everybody’s Golf and dormant ones like Arc the Lad and Wild Arms, it still didn’t exactly manage to launch a blockbuster game yet. It’ll be interesting to see if Disgaea RPG will be any different.
