We’re about a month into the new year, which means we still have so many great video game releases to look forward to this year. This year like last is a bit different than most, but now more than ever video games are keeping people connected –and no games do that better than cooperative titles. Here are some of the promising upcoming co-op Games releasing in 2022 to look forward to.
Rainbox Six Extraction – January 20, 2022

If you’ve ever played a Rainbow Six Siege game and thought, “this would be great as a Left 4 Dead co-op style of game,” then you’re in luck. Rainbow Six Extraction is a spin-off of the original game, with the key difference being that instead of having you go up against other players in a competition, you’re now using those same operators to face an alien threat.
While the gameplay in Rainbow Six Siege Extraction may differ depending on whatever map you’re playing on, the goal is always to work together as a team to complete objectives and eliminate the threat. This includes collecting samples, extracting materials from computers, and gathering intel.
Once you complete your goals in the game, you and your friends will have the choice of extract yourselves or explore the next sub-map. While the former is certainly the safer option, the latter allows you to get a bunch of rewards and goodies for the risk. Just be sure you take in the right team, as you’re going to need to work well together in order to survive.
Halo Infinite Co-Op Campaign – Spring 2022

Cooperative play has been a staple in the Halo franchise ever since the original Xbox days. If you’re already a Halo fan, then odds are you’ve played one through one of the previous titles in co-op before.
Unfortunately, while the campaign and multiplayer have both already been released to critical acclaim, fans are going to have to wait a little bit more until the co-op campaign is available. Due to some unforeseen issues, 343 Industries decided to delay the Campaign Co-Op and Forge sections of the game until a few months into 2022.
While we were saddened to see the co-op get delayed, we are looking forward to picking it up when it releases this spring.
Evil Dead: The Game – February 2022

Evil Dead: The Game is an upcoming survival game by World War Z developer, Saber Interactive.
The game is based on content from the Evil Dead franchise, and will feature a cooperative mode, as well as PvP.
We still don’t know a lot about this title outside of the gameplay shown in the game’s reveal trailer that aired at last year’s Game Awards, but it should release sometime in 2021. Keep an eye out for it as more information will hopefully be released in the coming months.
Redfall – Summer 2022

Another co-op exclusive that Xbox fans can hold over everyone else that is coming out in 2022 is Redfall, a 4-player vampire hunting title that is being developed by Arkane. While there isn’t too much that is known about the game as of yet, its announcement trailer back at Xbox and Bethesda E3 event showcased a lot of promise.
Players will be able to pick from a group of vampire slayers, each with their own unique abilities and talents. Just as your diverse group has plenty of strengths, though, so too do your foes.
To survive, everyone must use everything they’ve got to take down the diabolical, bloody-sucking creatures that threaten Redfall, Massachusetts. Redfall is launching exclusively on Xbox Series consoles, PC, and will be on Game Pass at launch in summer 2022.
Skull & Bones – 2022

Skull & Bones is an upcoming pirate-themed action-adventure game being developed by Ubisoft. The game was originally announced at E3 in 2018 and will finally be releasing later sometime this year.
Skull & Bones will allow players to form their own pirate crews to head out on a hunt for treasure and glory in the peak of piracy –think of it as Ubisoft’s answer to Microsoft’s Sea of Thrives.
The game will feature gameplay mechanics similar to those seen in past Ubisoft titles such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and is set to release at some point this year.
Gotham Knights – 2022

Gotham Knights takes place in the city of Gotham, immediately following the death of the infamous vigilante, Batman. In his absence, Batman’s most trusted sidekicks team up in order to protect the city.
Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood are all available as playable characters, and you can only play as one character at a time. There will also be a drop-in two-player cooperative mode available –meaning you can partner up with a friend!
Gotham Knights is set to release this year, though the specific date is currently unknown.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – 2022

If you’re still craving a bit more DC co-op action even after getting your hands on Gotham Knight in 2022, then you’re in luck, as not only does Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League fit that bill, but it also lets you be the bad guys.
As the title states, the entire premise of this game revolves around players controlling Task Force X (a.k.a. the Suicide Squad), as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark begrudgingly embark on their mission to take down the World’s Greatest DC Super Heroes. Instead of simply making this just a single-player experience, though, you’ll be able to team up with friends if you want as well.
While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League doesn’t have an exact timetable for its release, fans can expect it at some point in 2022.
Ark 2 – 2022

Anyone who has played Ark: Survival Evolved a fair amount knows that the best way to survive and thrive is to work together with friends and allies to gather resources and build a community. Ark 2 is going to be no different.
This sequel once again thrusts players into a primitive world where they must survive against man and beast, facing down the ever-present threats of hyper-realistic intelligent dinosaurs, aggressive alien fauna, and the exotic environments of an unearthly planet. Ark 2 is set to add plenty of interesting new elements to the series, including a lot of household names, like Vin Diesel, Russell Crowe, and Gerard Butler.
Only time will tell what these new faces and possible changes mean for the direction of the series. Ark 2 will be an Xbox Series X & S “console launch exclusive” when it launches in 2022.
