How to Evolve Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d in Pokemon Sword and Shield

First things first, Farfetch’d is a Sword exclusive Pokemon. The only way you’re going to find a wild Farfetch’d is by playing through Sword and encountering it.

Shield users can, of course, trade for it from a Sword player and the evolution requirements remain the same, but we’re just stating the obvious in case you were not aware that it was a version exclusive.

Anyway, Farfetch’d can be found on Route 5 and once you have one, in theory, it can evolve at anytime assuming you meet its unique evolution requirements.

Farfetch’d must get three critical hits in one trainer battle in order to evolve.

Using Dire Hit

Normally, getting three critical hits in one battle would not only be hard to do, but also require an incredible amount of luck. Fortunately, you can stack the odds in your favor in order to more rapidly battle harden your Farfetch’d so it evolves in Sirfetch’d quicker.

Purchase Dire Hits, a consumable item purchasable from most Pokemon centers that raises your critical hit rate, once you have a certain amount of gym badges.

Try and use Farfetch’d in longer battles, such as gym battles, to increase your chances of having enough time to actually get the three critical hits you need to evolve.

Once you do that, your Farfetch’d will evolve into Sirfetch’d at the end of the battle.

That’s all you need to know for how to evolve Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d in Pokemon Sword and Shield. For more tips, tricks and FAQs answered, be sure to visit our Sword and Shield Wiki Guide.
