In Madden NFL 17’s Ultimate Team mode, also known as MUT, contracts are the lifeblood of your squad. You probably won’t notice them at first, as you’ll begin with starter players, and some contracts. However, as soon as you start getting some good players through packs or the auction house, you’ll need contracts.
What contracts do is allow you to extend the number of games you can play with your players in Ultimate Team. Every player has a certain number of times they can be used before they must be extended. You won’t lose the player if they run out of contracts, but you won’t be able to use them in-game and they must be replaced on your squad until they are extended. So if you want to keep your Madden 17 MUT squad at tip top shape, you’ll need contracts, and you’ll need them often.
Luckily, contracts aren’t too hard to get, although the easiest way to acquire them in MUT kind of sucks. In the Ultimate Team menu, move over to the marketplace and then browse the store. From there, you’ll see the contracts section, and you’ll be able to purchase more contracts with coins. While yes, this is an easy way to acquire them, you’ll have to spend your hard earned coins on contracts instead of players, which isn’t fun at all. If you’re maximizing the amount of coins you earn on a regular basis by using our best practice tips, it won’t be that painful.
Alternatively, another way to get contracts is to complete solo challenges which occasionally offer contracts as a reward. Solo challenges aren’t always the most exciting way to spend your time, but some of them can be fun, and they often reward you with a lot of stuff which includes coins, packs, and of course, contracts.
Those are the two primary ways to get contracts in Madden 17’s Ultimate Team mode. Still having trouble getting contracts in MUT? Let us know in the comments and we’ll see if we can help.
