Jujutsu Kaisen is chock full of death, but keeping track of who’s gone for good is harder than you’d think. One such character is Kugisaki Nobara, and if you’re like most manga readers, you’re probably wondering: Is Kugisaki Nobara dead in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Does Kugisaki Nobara Die in Jujutsu Kaisen? Answered
We’re happy to inform you that Kugisaki Nobara did not die during the Shinjuku arc in Jujutsu Kaisen, and that her return was made official as of the series’ final arc.
While Mahito did manage to injure her by causing part of her head to explode, it appears that Aoi Todo’s classmate Arata Nitta managed to stall her death long enough for her to be saved.
As a result of her injuries though, she was kept out of commission for several arcs, and only resurfaced when her role in the Jujutsu Sorcerer’s plot to take down Sukuna became necessary. She likewise lost her left eye completely, and is shown with an eyepatch when she makes her grand return to the fold in Chapter 267.
It’s a cause for celebration, especially considering how many other characters met their end over the course of the series’ ultimate climax. From treasured senseis to newfound allies and foes, the last part of the series has been a bloodbath, so having even one character escape the reaper’s embrace is a great change of pace.

It also raises the question of which characters are or aren’t permanently dead in Jujutsu Kaisen.
While Nobara is certainly alive and kicking now, it’s unclear if her life was snuffed out for a period of time. If it was, then her return means other characters might have been savable depending on how quickly they were brought to the Jujutsu Sorcerers’ healers over the course of their fight with Sukuna.
Key among them is Gojo, whose body was retrieved over the course of the other sorcerers’ fight with Sukuna. If he was rescued in time, and his body was kept from fully dying via Nitta’s ability, then there’s a chance another of Itadori Yuji’s loved ones could make it through the final arc.
