Reminder: Trials of Osiris is considered a competitive PVP Game mode. While you can brave it alone if you are confident in your skill, finding two others to join you is recommended.

How to get Reed’s Regret in Destiny 2

  1. Buy a passage from Saint-14

Before jumping into the action, head over to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar and buy a passage from him. You cannot participate in the Trials of Osiris until you acquire a passage.

  2. More kills, more points.

As with any game mode, the more kills you get, the better results. Trials is no different in that regard. The more kills you get during a match, the more reputation points you earn. Keep earning points until you rank up.

  3. Decrypt your trials Engram

Now it’s time to decrypt your Trials, Engram. Make your way over to Master Rahool in the central plaza of the tower. You have a small chance of acquiring a copy of Reed’s Regret from there. Keep decrypting Engrams until you eventually acquire a copy.

  4. Focus Trials Engrams for a better roll of Reed’s Regret.

Once you obtain Reed’s Regret for the first time, head back to Saint-14 and use a Trials Engram to buy your very own copy of Reed’s Regret. However, it’s pretty expensive to buy, so make sure you stock up on your materials first.

What Is the God Roll for Reed’s Regret in Destiny 2?

As mentioned before, Reed’s Regret is considered one of the best PVE weapons for endgame content, such as raids, nightfalls, etc. But what makes it so top tier? The perks it can roll with. When searching for the God Roll for this weapon, you should be looking for Triple Tap and Firing Line.

Triple Tap gives one extra round in the magazine upon lading three precision hits in a row, while Firing Line grants an additional 20% damage when standing next to at least two other allies. Compared to most heavy weapons in the game, the damage difference is mind-boggling. Only a few guns can stand up to or surpass Reed’s Regret in total damage. We discuss more below.

Is Reed’s Regret Better Than Cataclysmic?

A common question amongst the PVE community is whether Reed’s Regret is better than the Cataclysmic Linear Fusion Rifle from Vow of the Disciple. To put it bluntly, Reed’s Regret is not better than a fully crafted, enhanced Cataclysmic. If it’s not crafted or enhanced, then yes, Reed’s is better. However, there’s a pretty big difference between non-crafted and crafted weapons in the game. Only in particular situations could Reed’s Regret be better than Cataclysmic.
