Fortnite Season 6 has brought a new Battle Pass, balance tweaks to weapons, a whole host of new cosmetics, and some changes to the map, too. While there are no new named locations to speak of in Fortnite Season 6 currently – though Loot Lake has been changed up a bit – you’ll noticed purple splodges across the map. These are Fortnite Corrupted Areas, and while they might not be as cool as a giant new named locale, they have their own surprises. Here’s all Fortnite Corrupted Areas locations and what they do.

First things first, let’s run you through what these Fortnite Corrupted Areas are. These are essentially where the giant cube had been in Fortnite Season 5. However, in Fortnite Season 6, these are now Corrupted Areas, tainted by the darkness of the cube. This is where you’ll find Shadow Stones, a new consumable item in the game that turns you invisible among other things, but prevents you from using a weapon. The Corrupted Area locations should be easy enough to spot from the Battle Bus before you jump out. They’re the glowing purple splodges, and you can also spot them fairly easily on Fortnite Season 6’s map.
