Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Is There Romance? Answered

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a bit of an odd duck compared to other Dragon Ball games, allowing players to explore an open world-take on the series’ universe. As such, you might be wondering: Is there romance you can find somewhere in the world?

Is There Romance in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot? Answered

To put it simply, no. There are no romance options or gameplay elements in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Instead, the game focuses its efforts on letting players explore, battle enemies and characters from the series’ mythos, and otherwise immerse themselves in a sprawling approximation of the many locals seen throughout the anime and manga.

Granted, relationships do exist in the game. Just like in the series proper, Goku is married to Chi Chi, while Vegeta is eventually together with Bulma and Krillin is eventually married to Android 18.

However, players can’t make choices that actively deviate from this cannon. Likewise, they can’t improve or ruin their relationships with the characters’ partners in ways meaningful to the wider game’s narrative.

Will There Ever Be Romance in the Game?

As for whether romance options might come to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot in the future as DLC or updates, chances are slim to nil.

Romance has never been an integral part of the Dragon Ball series, and given that Kakarot follows the canon of the series pretty definitively, the chances of the game’s creators deviating from it for romance DLC doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Hopefully this cleared up whether there’s romance in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. For more on the game, check out our guide wiki for guides on other hot topics like whether there’s a difficulty trophy or achievement and whether the game is PS4 Pro and Xbox One X enhanced.
