When Shadow of the Colossus was first released for the PlayStation 2 people were in awe of its ability to be both destitute and breathtaking. The Shadow of the Colossus remake for PlayStation 4 is a truly powerful and inspiring piece of art. This is further enhanced by its photo mode, which the community has already fully embraced. Whether players are riding their faithful steed Aggro, or scaling one of the 16 Colossi the photo mode is being utilized to great extent. Players have been creating their own works of art forged by their own trials against this grueling world.
Mark Skelton the art director of Bluepoint Games stated this on the PlayStation Blog “The thing that makes Photo Mode stand out is its power and flexibility. It’s an entire photo adjustment suite built into the game for you! Everything that I had access to as the Art Director, you have access to as the player. You can start with a filter and adjust all the way down to color balancing the shadows, mid tones and highlights. Then on top of that, control the depth of field ranges and amounts, in addition to the vignette.”
