6 Best Games to Look Forward to in November 2018

Hitman 2 (Release Date: November 13)

Agent 47 is back in this follow-up to 2016’s revival of the series, and the targets he’s tasked with eliminating this time around will require him to be more creative than ever before. From the usual array of body guard-filled compounds to more flamboyant locales like a Florida race track, each new area will present just as many challenges as there are possibilities for creative killing, and the only limit is the player’s imagination.

While they’re out and about killing targets around the world, players will also be hot on the trail of the Shadow Client, a mysterious individual whose influence is felt all over the world. He stands as the only person who knows Agent 47’s past, and with this boon and threat in sight, Agent 47 will stop at nothing to uncover their true identity and everything they know.

Of course, should players want to dive into the sillier side of the series, Hitman 2 has plenty of that too. Case in point: The title’s first confirmed elusive target will be Sean Bean, an actor who is notorious for playing characters that exit films and shows in a body bag.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Release Date: November 13)

Like the Crash Bandicoot series before it, the Spyro series is back and better than ever with a full HD remake of the first three titles in its run. Players can once again explore the Dragon Kingdom and its many realms as the titular purple dragon himself, collecting jams and overcoming platforming challenges in order to undo the evil magic of Gnasty Gnorc and return his home to order.

Alongside the revamped graphics, the game will also boast a new main theme composed by the series’ original composer Stewart Copeland, the return of Spyro’s original voice actor Tom Kenny to reprise his role and the choice to toggle the game’s original and remade soundtracks. It looks to be a fine return to form for the series, and ones fans new and old won’t want to miss.

Fallout 76 (Release Date: November 14)

Set exactly 200 years after the day the world was destroyed by nuclear war, Fallout 76 sees players take the role of a member of Vault 76 as they venture out into the wastes. Like the other vaults, 76 was made with a specific task and experiment in mind, and those who resided in Vault 76 must now go out into the Wasteland of West Virginia and re-establish civilization by means of diplomacy, laser rifle or nuclear blasts.

While Bethesda may be known around the world for their immersive single-player experiences, multiplayer remains a fairly unexplored avenue for the developer. And yet, with Fallout 76, they may just turn that notion around. The Wasteland of West Virginia has a wealth of ways for players to interact as allies and hostiles, providing all the materials they need to build up outposts and towns or lay waste to the settlements others so painstakingly crafted.

The jury’s still out on it’s quality until its release, but based on our time with the Beta, there’s plenty to be excited about.

Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee! (Release Date: November 16)

After the success of Pokemon GO around the world, it’s little surprise Nintendo would want to utilize the mobile title’s gameplay in a more traditional entry in the storied series.

Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee! does just this, allowing players to re-experience the first title in the franchise alongside either a Pikachu or an Eevee as their starter based on the version. In it, players catch Pokemon in much the same way as the mobile game, hurling a Poke Ball using motion controls or the specially-designed Poke Ball Plus peripheral controller.

The new features don’t stop there though, as this enhanced remake also offers new mechanics like Pokemon appearing in the overworld as well as new Pokemon to capture like the metallic Meltan. It looks to be an exciting step forward for the series, and Pokemon fans new and old alike won’t want to miss this promising first outing by the series on the Nintendo Switch.

Battlefield V (Release Date: November 20)

The latest installment in the popular first-person shooter franchise, Battlefield V has all the bells and whistles of a modern shooter along with a few elements that set it apart from the pack.

Set during World War II, the game has a wealth of online multiplayer modes and options for play. Along with traditional matches, players can take part in Grand Operations where each match portrays a different part of an operation from the war and the battles that ensued.

Players can also take part in the Combined Arms mode, wherein up to four players can come together to take on special co-op missions for the first time since Battlefield 3, and the single player War Stories will also return to portray special scenarios based on events from the war.

Granted, fans looking forward to its Firestorm battle royale mode will have to wait for the feature to launch in March of next year, but there’s no shortage of content to occupy them until then.

Darksiders III (Release Date: November 27)

After many years, the third entry in the Darksiders franchise is almost upon us. Set during the events of the first two games, Darksiders III places players in the role of the Horseman of the Apocalypse Fury in her quest to destroy the Seven Deadly Sins.

It soon becomes apparent, though, that this may not be the way the world was supposed to end, and with the help of the enigmatic Lord of Hollows she begins to unravel the plot that led to this sudden calamity and set the world back in order.

Full of the fluid hack and slash action, exploration and world design that put the series on the map last generation, Darksiders III looks to be a return to form for the series. Those who loved the first two entries won’t want to miss the climactic end to the trilogy, and newcomers couldn’t ask for a better place to jump in.
