DECEMBER PS4 GAME RELEASES – WEEK ONE (DEC. 1 – DEC. 3)
December starts off pretty quietly on Sony’s home console with only two games releasing in the opening few days. Fortunately for winter sports fans, Ubisoft’s open-world game Steep, allows you to make your way down the Alps mountain range in a number of different ways, racking up points in the process. If you find a particularly cool route, you can then save it and share it with your friends to see who can top the leaderboard.
Today also sees the release of The Dwarves, a tactical fantasy RPG that requires you to think logically about how you deploy and utilize the 15 playable heroes on offer. If that sounds like your cup of tea, you may have found a way to tide yourself over during the winter months.
- The Dwarves – December 1
- Steep – December 2

The Last Guardian headlines week two of December’s games which sees players guide a young boy and his giant dog, bird thing through ruins and other dangers. After years of waiting, players will be eager to find out if Team ICO’s latest title manages to hit the highs of Shadow of the Colossus.
In other week two releases, Star Wars fans will be treated not only to the Rogue One: Scarif expansions for Battlefront, but also an X-Wing mission for those who have PlayStation VR. Even better, everyone who already has Star Wars Battlefront will be able to get the mission completely free.

DECEMBER PS4 GAME RELEASES – WEEK THREE (DEC. 11 – DEC. 17)
As we approach Christmas, the releases begin to slow down again on the PS4, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Stardew Valley, the popular PC farming and life simulator arrives on Sony’s system and will have you tending livestock and harvesting your crops to turn this rundown farm into a thriving business. You can also go for a spot of fishing, try and woo one of the other townsfolk, and generally go exploring at your own pace.
If you’ve been looking for something to take you back to the retro days of gaming, then you might want to check out Wild Guns Reloaded. Reloaded brings the classic SNES game, Wild Guns to the PS4 on December 13, with redrawn graphics and a four-player co-op game mode to boot.

DECEMBER PS4 GAME RELEASES – WEEK FOUR AND FIVE (DEC. 18 – DEC. 31)
The week of Christmas brings with it a couple of great gems for PS4 owners. Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Season 3 kicks off with episode one. Titled, A New Frontier, players will embark on a new adventure with a more grown up Clementine. According to series three’s description, players will get a glimpse into the law and order of surviving in a world where the undead walk among the living and remain a constant threat.
Agents who are still checking out The Division will also be pleased to know that DLC pack two, Survival, will also be coming to PS4 on December 20. Unfortunately, there’s nothing releasing in the final week of 2016, and as such we’d suggest heading through your backlog and clearing things out in preparation for the slew of titles coming in 2017.
Here are all of week four’s releases.
- The Walking Dead: Season 3 – Episode One: A New Frontier – December 20
- The Division: DLC 2 Survival – December 20
- Don Bradman Cricket 17 – December 22
- Rollercoaster Dreams (PS4 & PSVR) – December 22
That’s it for PS4 game releases for 2016, but be sure to check back with Twinfinite in 2017 for a breakdown of the entire schedule each month.
