All May 2016 Video Game Releases

Another great month for games!

Battleborn, may, game, releases

May is quite possibly the lightest month of the year in terms of huge releases, but it manages to pack in some of the most anticipated games out there. There’s something for almost everyone this month, and it’s looking to be a great month indeed.

Week One (May 1 – 7)

The biggest game of the week is undoubtedly Battleborn. Gearbox’s FPS/MOBA hybrid is filled to the brim with unique, charismatic heroes, and lots of action. But there are a few other games this week worthy of attention. Tropico 5 hits consoles starting on the PS4 this week, and PS Plus subscribers can even get it at no extra cost. Superhot brings its puzzling first-person action to the Xbox One. There’s a lot of variety in this week’s offerings to keep appetites satiated.

Check out this weeks game offerings:

  • Battleborn – May 3 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
  • Coffin Dodgers – May 3 (PS4)
  • Fragments of Him – May 3 (PS4)
  • The Park – May 3 (PS4, Xbox One)
  • Ray Gigant – May 3 (PS Vita)
  • Shadow Complex Remastered – May 3 (PS4)
  • Superhot – May 3 (Xbox One)
  • Table Top Racing: World Tour – May 3 (PS4)
  • Tropico 5 – May 3 (PS4), May 24 (Xbox One)
  • Kathy Rain – May 5 (PC)
  • Coffin Dodgers – May 6 (Xbox One)
  • Ecotone – May 6 (PC)

Week Two (May 8 – 14)

Uncharted 4 has been on a lot of radars since it was first officially revealed back in 2013. One of Sony’s largest exclusives is finally getting a new entry, and it is to be the end of an era as it closes out Nathan Drake’s exciting adventures. Not to be outdone on the action front, Bethesda will release DOOM this same week. For those not into hunting treasure and shooting the competition, perhaps slaying demons is more your cup of tea?

Check out every game week two has to offer:

  • Stellaris – May 9 (PC)
  • The Magic Circle: Gold Edition – May 10 (PS4)
  • MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies – May 10 (PS Vita)
  • StarBreak – May 10 (PC)
  • Tastee: Lethal Tactics – May 10 (PC)
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – May 10 (PS4)
  • Goliath – May 12 (PC)
  • RefRain – prism memories – May 12 (PC)
  • Doom – May 13 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Week Three (May 15 – 21)

Homefront: The Revolution takes the war at home and turns it into an open-world affair. With a heavy focus on urban guerrilla warfare and multiplayer, it is a very different game from its predecessor. On the PlayStation exclusive side of things, Shadow of the Beast is a remake of a 1989 classic full of gore and power. If you’re looking for something else along the classic lines, check out Valkyria Chronicles Remastered.

All of week three’s releases for May are listed below:

  • Homefront: The Revolution – May 17 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
  • Life Goes On: Done to Death – May 17 (PS4, PC)
  • Shadow of the Beast – May 17 (PS4)
  • Valkyria Chronicles Remastered – May 17 (PS4)
  • Lastfight – May 19 (PC)

Week Four (May 22 – 28)

Battleborn may be garnering a lot of the FPS attention at the very start of the month, but Overwatch will definitely catch eyes when it releases on May 24. If you aren’t into shooting but still want a lot of action in your game with some fun characters, Mutants in Manhattan will most likely be up your alley. Total War: Warhammer mixes deep strategy with a well known table-top franchise, adding a bit of variety to the week.

Here are the week four game releases:

  • The Way – May 23 (PC)
  • Dungeons 2 – May 24 (PS4)
  • The Last Blade 2 – May 24 (PS4, PS Vita)
  • Overwatch – May 24 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan – May 24 (Ps4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC)
  • Total War: Warhammer – May 24 (PC)
  • Excubitor – May 26 (PC)

Week 5 (May 29 -31)

May 2016 closes out with a short list, but that list includes a couple of potentially big game releases. Dead Island: Definitive Edition hopes to capitalize on Dying Light’s amazing run and hopefully does away with the issues that made the great game a bit hard to appreciate when it first released. One Piece: Burning Blood puts the pirates and marines into a fighting game where they’ll be able to put all their skills on display. Meanwhile, on the MMO side of things, The Elder Scrolls Online finally adds in the Dark Brotherhood, opening up the world of Tamriel to assassinations and shadowy missions.

May’s last day of game releases:

  • Daydreamer: Awakened Edition – May 31 (PS4)
  • Dead Island: Definitive Edition – May 31 (PS4, Xbox One)
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Dark Brotherhood – May 31 (PC)
  • One Piece: Burning Blood – May 31 (PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita)
