7 Fall TV Shows to Have on Your Radar

Plenty to keep you occupied during the colder months!

Mr. Robot Season 3

Fall TV Shows to Have on Your Radar

Sam Esmail’s Mr. Robot has taken the world somewhat by storm since its first season back in 2015. Focusing on Elliot, a young programmer turned vigilante hacker, season 3 looks set to delve further into the psyche of the mastermind, as well as follow-up on the Dark Army’s betrayal of fsociety.

With that intense ending to season two to follow-up on, the latest trailer also suggests that fsociety could go for the killer blow on E-Corp this season. It also looks like we’ll be seeing plenty more internal torment for Elliot, and a world plunged even further into darkness than we’d seen in the second season. Fans have plenty of reason to tune in when Season 3 kicks off on Oct. 11.

Ghosted

Fall TV Shows to Have on Your Radar

Ever wanted a show that takes the supernatural investigations of The X-Files and mixes it with top quality comedic talent? That’s pretty much what Ghosted is. Leroy Wright (Craig Robinson) a paranormal skeptic is forced to work with firm believer Max Jennifer (Adam Scott) to crack a series of paranormal or unexplained occurrences in Los Angeles.

From what we’ve seen in the official trailer, Robinson and Scott look to have some great chemistry in their leading roles and we can’t wait to see what kind of bizarre escapades the duo get up to. Ghosted is due to premiere on Fox on Oct. 1.

The Walking Dead Season 8

Fall TV Shows to Have on Your Radar

While some may groan at another season of Rick and the crew’s trials and tribulations in the zombie apocalypse, there’s no disputing that season 8 is shaping up to host arguably the most epic battle the show has seen to date. The eighth season of the long-running AMC show will adapt the All Out War story arc from the comics, as the survivors of Alexandria, the Hilltop, and the Kingdom take on Negan and the Saviors.

Considering how heated things were in the finale of season 7, with Daryl returning to the group, Ezekiel’s tiger mauling up some Saviors, and Negan being forced into retreat, the battle between the two camps is at a boiling point. Exactly how true to the All Out War comic story arc the season will be remains to be seen, but fans will likely have plenty to look forward to either way.

Star Trek: Discovery

Fall TV Shows to Have on Your Radar

It’s been quite some time since the very first Star Trek series aired back in 1966, but over 50 years later, Star Trek: Discovery will tell the events of the Federation-Klingon cold war that took place roughly a decade before the original series.

The series will focus in particular on Michael Burnham, a human raised as a Vulcan and the first officer of the USS Shenzhou and later the USS Discovery. Whether or not it will do the legendary sci-fi series justice remains to be seen, but Star Trek fans will be tuning in and hoping for the best when the series premieres on Sept. 24 on CBS All Access.

Black Mirror Season 4

Fall TV Shows to Have on Your Radar

Charlie Brooker’s anthology of dark tales of technology hit a fever point last season with its Emmy-nominated episode, San Junipero. Each series tells a set of standalone, suspenseful tales highlighting the unease of both modern and future worlds where technology reigns supreme. And following the release of a new trailer giving fans some quick glimpses of what’s to come in the next six episode series, season 4 looks set to deliver even more bizarre, intense, and uneasy viewing for fans this fall.

Though we can’t get a true understanding as to what each of the six episodes will really be about from the snippets in the trailer, there’s a pretty wide spread of themes here, from the blatant Star Trek-stylings of USS Callister, to the more intense scenes of Crocodile. Black Mirror Season 4 hasn’t got a set release date yet outside of releasing this year, but if the third season is anything to go by, expect it to be available on Netflix in October.

Stranger Things Season 2

Fall TV Shows to Have on Your Radar

Stranger Things’ second season continues to follow Will Byers, Dustin Henderson, Eleven, and the rest of the residents of Hawkins, Indiana in 1984. And though the Demogorgon has been defeated, there’s a different kind of monster that has emerged from Hawkins Lab that threatens the survivors of the first season.

The first season captured the hearts of many by blending a retro, nostalgic style with compelling sci-fi substance. While we don’t know too much about how things will pan out against this new evil entity, it’s certainly shaping up to bring more of the same excellent viewing as the debut season.

Stranger Things Season 2 premieres Oct. 27 on Netflix.

Black-Ish Season 4

Fall TV Shows to Have on Your Radar

With comedy at its heart, Black-Ish has tackled some engaging cultural issues over its past few seasons and fans will be hoping that season four delivers even more of this when it kicks off in a couple of months. The show follows family man Andre Johnson as he struggles to gain a sense of cultural identity while living in a white, upper-middle-class neighborhood.

Though its title may suggest that that’s all the show is about, it also manages to tackle concepts of self-identification and changing values in other instances. Black-Ish season 4 will premiere Oct. 3 on ABC.
