Fortnite is no exception, and for this year there’s a melee weapon that has everyone scrambling to find its whereabouts. Performing a Ritual & Getting Howler Claws Explained
To get the Howler Claws in Fortnite, players must locate an Alteration Altar and then perform the Ritual emote. The claws are given as a reward, along with a fancy wolf head which essentially symbolizes that you have indeed completed the challenge.
Simply walk onto one, press down on the d-pad, and then select the Ritual Emote or whatever that comes up. Your avatar will do a little dance, and then you’ll have the Howler Claws.
Note that the ritual emote you have to perform on the alteration altar takes about 5 seconds and enemies can damage/ eliminate you while you’re doing it from what I’ve gathered.
Best Alteration Altar Locations to Complete Challenge
Alteration Altars are spread across Fortnite’s map, but their locations are actually randomized every time you boot into a game. That being said, there are some places you can reliably find an altar; the Reality Tree, for example, always has altars spawned around it, and so our recommendation is to make a beeline there to complete the challenge quickly.
Once you arrive, there are lots of hexagonal platforms around the Reality Tree named location. They’re pretty hard to miss before you use one as they’re glowing brightly.
Howler Claws Special Attack & Abilities
Once equipped, Howler Claws bestow Fortnitemares players with tracking vision via an ability called Wolfscent. They’re also able to Slash and Air Slash attack, which deals a substantial amount of damage as part of a four-combo melee attack.
