Shin Megami Tensei V: How to Fast Travel

Shin Megami Tensei V is the latest entry in Atlus’s not-quite-as-popular-as-Persona JRPG series, and it’s finally available for the Nintendo Switch after its initial announcement back in 2017. This game takes place in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo, where a war between angels and demons have ravaged the entire Earth. Players take control of the Nahobino, a high school student with the power to command demons in battle, and you’re tasked with finding your friends and learning what really happened here. Here’s how to fast travel in Shin Megami Tensei V.

As compared to past entries in the series, the various levels that you’ll get to explore in Shin Megami Tensei V are way bigger than what you’re probably used to. They’re large maps with tons of nooks and crannies to explore, and secret corners that you can only access if you check everything thoroughly.

Because of how big the maps can get, there’s now a proper fast travel system in place that lets you teleport from one place to another.

To activate the fast travel feature, you’ll first need to interact with a leyline fount, indicated by a light blue glowing pillar of light. Once you interact with it, its location will be registered, and you can then fast travel there from any other leyline fount in the game.

Interact with the fount, then choose the option that says Leyline Crossing. This will bring up a map with all of the founts you’ve discovered in the game so far, and you can teleport to any of them instantly at no cost at all. This will come in especially handy as you take on more sub-quests from the demons you see around the world, and will allow you to turn them in efficiently without needing to manually run back to them.

That’s all you need to know about how to fast travel in Shin Megami Tensei V. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
