How to Evolve Nosepass Into Probopass in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

One of the best things about the original gen 4 games is that they added some really neat cross-generational evolutions, breathing new life into Pokemon that really needed a boost. One example is Nosepess, who definitely needed an evolution to raise it out of obscurity. In this guide, we’ll go over how to evolve your Nosepass into Probopass in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Evolve Nosepess into Probopass in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Nosepass, on its own, is a pretty unremarkable Pokemon. For while it was a one-stage Pokemon with low base stats, and a very uninteresting mono Rock typing. It was also kind of a strange concept as well. It’s a rock that looks like a nose… OK. It’s supposedly based on the Easter Island statues, but that’s kind of a stretch if you ask me.

Anyway, in the original gen 4 games, Nosepass received a new evolution, Probopass which is a more powerful Rock/Steel type with a healthy amount of access to Electric-type attacks well considering its strong connection to magnetism. Oh and it also has three noses now, and a powerful mustache as well.

Evolving Nosepass in a Magnetic Field

Unlike Magneton, the Nosepass evolution hasn’t changed in the remakes. It still has the same, strange, and kind of unique prerequisite. Nosepass needs to be inside a magnetic field to evolve. This means you need to level it up inside Mt. Coronet, or at the Spear Pillar or Hall of Origin, which are three areas that have connections to magnetic fields.

If you fulfill this requirement, Nosepass will immediately evolve into Probopass regardless of its level. It’ll still learn moves too, unlike Pokemon that evolve via stones, so this is a handy way to get a decently powerful ally on your team.

That’s all you need to know for how to evolve Nosepass into Probopass in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. For more FAQs answered and other tips, tricks, and guides visit our Pokemon Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond guide wiki.
