Roblox has played host to a bunch of immersive virtual gigs as of late. The next big band that is all set to play a Roblox gig is the US-based hip-hop duo, Twenty One Pilots. The Twenty One Pilots Concert Experience is scheduled to kick off at midnight on Sept. 18 BST (or 4pm, Sept. 17 PDT). It will be available to rewatch in Roblox until 7am, Sept. 20. To view the concert, you’ll need to log into your Roblox account or sign up for one here.
What To Expect From the Twenty One Pilots Concert Experience
From what we can gather, the concert will be a “five-song set” and “will feature a combination of hit songs as well as new material from the band’s 2021 album, Scaled and Icy.”
Much like Lil Nas X and Zara Larsson’s recent virtual gigs, there’ll be an element of interactivity to help fans get more involved with the experience.
Players will be given the chance “to control the order of songs performed through instantaneous voting once the concert begins”. Each song will boast its own unique set design “powered by the latest in Roblox’s lighting, physically based rendering, and motion capture technologies.”
Additionally, players will have access to a bunch of special emotes, interactive features, and bespoke merchandise, with “more than 30 exclusive custom-designed pieces available for purchase.”
Interestingly, there’ll also be a series of pre-concert Metaverse-spanning quests that’ll be integrated into three Roblox games – Ultimate Driving: Westover Islands, Creatures of Sonaria, and World // Zero.
Finally, players will also be able to access a handful of behind-the-scenes footage about how the concert was constructed as well as a Q+A with Twenty One Pilots’ Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun.
