Splitgate: How to Get Drops & Open Them

Splitgate is the latest shooter to take the world by storm. The game mixes up the gameplay Halo with Portal, and is oh so satisfying to play, whether it’s just a quick game or a lengthy session with pals. As you play more matches, you’ll earn Drops which will give you a random cosmetic reward, such as weapon or armor skins and other customization options. Here’s how to get Drops in Splitgate.

Getting Drops in Splitgate

There are currently four main ways you can earn drops in Splitgate. These are:

  • Leveling Up
  • Daily Logins
  • Weekly Challenges
  • Arena Pass Drops

Leveling Up to Get Drops

Every time you play a match, you’ll earn experience. When you’ve earned enough, you’ll level up and each time you level up you’ll earn a Drop (up to level 10).

It’s likely that once the game leaves its beta phase and the full version is released, that Drops will be awarded for levels over 10, but right now that’s the cap.

Make sure you’re performing well in matches and completing the Daily Logins and Daily Challenges to maximize the amount of XP you’re earning in a session. The more consecutive days you login, the better your rewards, too!

Daily Logins – How to Get Drops in Splitgate

As we mentioned below, every time you login to Splitgate, you’ll earn some form of reward. This is usually XP, which can help you level up, but on the fourth consecutive day of logging in, you’ll earn a free Drop.

If you login seven days in a row, you’ll earn 100 Splitcoins, which can then be spent on another drop in-game.

Weekly Challenges

Much like there are Daily Challenges to grind out, Splitgate also has Weekly Challenges which can award players with XP and very occasionally, Drops.

Make sure you’re checking the Weekly Challenges every time you login and focus on grinding out their objectives in order to earn a ton more XP to help you level up — and in turn get more Splitgate Drops — and Drops, too.

Arena Pass Drops – How to Get Drops in Splitgate

Finally, if you’ve got the Arena Pass, you’ll get an additional Drop as a reward for every four tiers that you reach, up to tier 12. At this point, you’ll no longer be able to earn any more Drops.

It’s highly likely that once the full version of the game releases, you’ll be able to earn Drops from the Arena Pass at higher tiers, but right now, the development team is likely focused on smoothing out any gameplay and server issues players may be facing.

How to Open Drops

Once you’ve earned a drop, you need to head to the ‘Reward Center’ accessed by pressing in the left stick on PlayStation and Xbox, and ____ on PC.

From here, select ‘Drops’ which will take you to a screen where you can press A/X to begin the Drop opening animation. Press A/X again when prompted to crush the Drop and reveal its contents.
