Finally, after over 15 years, the long-awaited sequel, Psychonauts 2 from Double Fine is here. Psychonauts 2 is a 3D platformer, and thus, there’s lots of stuff to collect. In this guide, we’re going to go over Psitanium specifically, what it does, and how you can get Psitanium to build up Raz’s powers.
How to Get Psitanium in Psychonauts 2
First, let’s go over how to get Psitanium in Psychonauts 2. Psitanium is a purple wispy currency that you can find pretty much anywhere in the world of Psychonauts 2.
Most of the time, to get it, you’ll need to walk up to it and press Y on Xbox or Triangle on PlayStation, this will cause it to shift around and a second later, will allow you to collect it.
Sometimes, though, you’ll receive it as a reward for opening up a supply chest, or you’ll stumble across hidden Psitanium while using Clairvoyance. It truly is all over and it’s hard to miss.
What Psitanium is Used For in Psychonauts 2
It’s good that it’s easy to find and plentiful because you’ll be needing a lot of it. Psitanium is the main currency used in OttoMatic vending machines, the space where you’ll buy all kinds of useful upgrades in Psychonauts 2.
Stuff such as pin modifiers for your abilities, cores, upgrades, and more are all found in the OttoMatic and will require Psitanium. So collect lots of it, buy the upgrades that let you hold more, and try and get as much as you can.
