Developed by Toylogic and published by Square Enix, Nier Replicant ver.1.22 is a re-release of the action RPG that launched for PS3 and Xbox 360 a decade ago. This new version of the game features improved graphics and character models, along with new content to help flesh out the story even more and even link the plot to the events of Nier: Automata. If you’re wondering whether Nier Replicant has a chapter select feature, here’s what you need to know.
Is There Chapter Select in Nier Replicant?
The short answer is, no, sadly Nier Replicant does not feature a chapter select function similar to the one that you do get in Nier: Automata. In Automata, after you’d cleared the game and seen Ending C, you’d be able to jump back into any chapter of the game and keep playing from there.
This was handy for cleaning up remaining side quests and collecting weapons, which made it more convenient for players looking to 100% this game.
However, Nier Replicant doesn’t have that function. Whenever you load up a clear save file, you have to start from the beginning of the second half and work your way from there. There’s no way to replay the first half by loading a clear file, and there’s still no way to jump to different points of the story in the second half.
This means that you need to be conscientious about getting everything done before you beat the Shadowlord and get past the point of no return. It’s possible that Square Enix may eventually patch in a chapter select feature into the game, but that seems unlikely.
That’s all you need to know about whether there is a chapter select feature in Nier Replicant. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
