Fortunately for you, we’ve constructed this guide on the topic. Below you’ll find a detailed breakdown of who can utilize this mechanic, when you can use it, and more.

How to Trigger and Use Climbing Rope in Hood Outlaws & Legends

Climbing Ropes can only be activated while playing as the Ranger in Hood Legends & Outlaws.

This is because you’ll need an arrow to fire at the points where climbing ropes can be attached. You’ll know you’ve found one when you find a wooden beam jutting out from a platform with some rope tied around it. Once you find one of these beams, you can fire an arrow at it by holding down L2 on PlayStation or LT on Xbox to aim and then pressing R2 or RT to fire it.

This will cause the rope to unravel from the beam. After that, you and any other player in the game will be able to climb the rope to reach the platform it’s connected to by walking up to it.

When You Should Trigger Climbing Ropes

With this in mind, there is some strategy that comes with choosing whether or not to trigger climbing ropes in Hood Outlaws & Legends.

Not activating climbing ropes might slow your progress through a map, but it’ll slow down your opponents in turn. On the other hand, triggering a rope as soon as you spot it can ensure your team nabs the map’s treasure as soon as possible and give you a lead on the opposing team.

Carefully analyze the situation, and make the decision that’ll be most beneficial to your team.

That’s all there is to know about how to trigger and use climbing ropes in Hood Outlaws & Legends. For more on the game, check out our other guides on topics like whether or not there’s crossplay and how to use Winches.
