This time around many towns in the southern Miyazaki prefecture installed Poke-lids featuring mainly the popular Exeggutor in both its Kanto and Alola forms.

Said towns are Mimata, Takanabe, Shintomi, Kijo, Kawaminami, Tsuno, Kadogawa, and Misato

Here are the Pokemon portrayed:

  • Woobat and Exeggutor
  • Raichu and Alolan Exeggutor
  • Makuhita and Alolan Exeggutor
  • Exeggutor and Ditto (transformed as Exeggutor)
  • Marshtomp and Exeggutor
  • Buizel and Alolan Exeggutor
  • Crabrawler and Alolan Exeggutor
  • Exeggute and Exeggutor

As usual, the Poke-lids will mark locations for PokeStops compatible with Pokemon GO.

The focus on Exeggutor should not surprise, as it’s associated with Miyazaki prefecture. Recently we even saw the local airline Solaseed Air launch an airliner decorated with the popular palm pokemon.

Below you can check out the new Poke-lids in a gallery of images from the press release.

The trend started with the installation of the first Poke-lid portraying Eevee in Ibusuki, Kagoshima prefecture, back in December 2018. As of now, 167 of the colorful manholes have been installed in fifteen prefectures including the five mentioned here.

Each Poke-lid is one-of-a-kind, sporting its own original design that doesn’t appear anywhere else. Of course, this comes with the benefit of encouraging many fans to visit local communities to snap collectible pictures, boosting tourism and business.

If you want to see more, you can check out those installed in Tottori prefecture featuring Sandshrew and Sandslashthe lids portraying Chansey in Fukushima prefecture, the batch in Hokkaido, featuring Vulpix, the group in Niigata prefecture starring Magikarp, another in Nara prefecture portraying a bunch of different Pokemonthe previous batch in Ogasawara, and another group in Kyoto, on top of a video from a few weeks ago showing how the Poke-lid are made.
