Not everyone likes baserunning, is good at it, or even feels like working with the controls. Some would just prefer the CPU to handle it. Personally, I don’t get it, but I support you, the reader, in pursuing your ideal MLB The Show 21 experience. Fortunately, it’s very easy to do. You just need to know where to look.

To turn off baserunning in MLB The Show 21, simply head to your settings. You can do this mid-game while in the pause menu, or while you’re in the main menu in the top right corner. Either way works.

Once you’re there, go to Batting and Baserunning, and then press L2/R2 on PlayStation or LT/RT if you’re on Xbox to switch over to advanced settings which houses the baserunning options you have.

After that, all you need to do is swap Baserunning Decisions from Assist to Auto. Auto will have the CPU make all the baserunning calls for you. Effectively, after you hit the ball into play, your job is done and you’re just watching and hoping things bounce your way.
