Bravely Default 2 is the brand new JRPG from Square Enix that’s just been released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The game features the unique Brave and Default turn-based combat system from the original 3DS title, and takes place in a new setting with a new cast of characters. Here’s how to change to Japanese voices in Bravely Default 2.
Changing to Japanese Voices in Bravely Default 2
Including the Japanese voice track for free is becoming an increasingly common trend for JRPGs these days, and Bravely Default 2 offers that feature as well. And even better, you can do it anytime, you don’t have to download an additional DLC pack for it, and you don’t have to restart the game or reload a save to get the voices to kick in.
To change to Japanese voices, simply bring up the menu with the X button and go to Options. Scroll down to the voice settings and use the d-pad to cycle between the English and Japanese voice tracks, then confirm your selection.
Once you exit out of the menu, your characters will start speaking and reacting in Japanese, and you won’t have a problem understanding them if you keep the English subtitles intact.
While the Japanese voice track is great, it’s worth noting that the English track is also pretty decent. The English voice cast features a nice variety of recognizable accents and the performance isn’t too over-the-top, making the game quite pleasant to play through entirely in English.
You can change the voices anytime you want, though, so feel free to swap between the voice tracks accordingly if you’re not enjoying one or the other.
That’s all you need to know about how to change to Japanese voices in Bravely Default 2. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
