Developed by Claytechworks and published by Square Enix, Bravely Default 2 is the brand new JRPG set to be released for the Nintendo Switch this week. It brings back the innovative combat system introduced in the first game, as well as the extensive job system that lets you play around with multiple party compositions. Here’s how to change character appearance in Bravely Default 2.
Changing Character Appearance in Bravely Default 2
At the start of the game, each of your four characters will begin their journey in the outfit of whichever job they came with. For instance, Seth, Gloria, and Adelle start as Freelancers, while Elvis starts as a Black Mage. Elvis gets to wear a black coat and hat, while the other three are in fairly regular, unassuming clothing.
However, it’s possible to change up your character appearance by unlocking more jobs in the game and setting them for your characters. For instance, the Swordmaster job gives your character slightly heavier armor, while the Ranger job puts you in a stylish cloak and hood.
That being said, it’s worth noting that your characters will only take on the appearance of whatever is set as their main job. This means that if you have Seth’s main job set as Vanguard, he’ll appear in cutscenes decked out in Vanguard armor regardless of what his sub-job is.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like it’s possible to transmog your character’s appearance or anything like that, so their appearance will be fixed to their main job. The good news is that all of the job outfits are actually pretty cute and stylish, and it’s hard to find one that will make your character look bad, except maybe for the Bard job.
Job outfits also change depending on whether they’re on a male or female character, so it’s worth experimenting and seeing which ones you like best.
