As Marianne steps into the spirit world during her time through The Medium’s story, she’ll encounter swarms of moths. These moths will actually kill Marianne if she tries to just walk through them unprotected, but that doesn’t mean you simply can never get past them. You just need the right protection. How to Get Past Moths in The Medium
To get through moths, you’ll need to get some spirit power by extracting it from a glowing white object in the spirit world, and then press and hold RB to create a spirit shield. This will burn any moths that come into contact with it, granting Marianne safe passage through the swamp and on the way to her next objective.
Spirit power can sometimes be a little difficult to find, but you’re simply looking for anything that glows bright white in the spirit world. When you see this, walk over to the glow and press A on the Xbox controller. Marianne will then put her hand out and absorb the energy. You’ll know you’ve successfully absorbed spirit energy when you see glowing white vines round Marianne’s arm.
Then it’s simply a case of walking back over to the moths and pressing and holding RB to use your spirit shield. Keep in mind that this doesn’t last forever, so you can’t dawdle. Press and hold LT to sprint through the moths in The Medium, just to be on the safe side.
