How To Summon Specters in The Sims 4

You actually can’t “summon” specters. All you need to do for them to appear is have your Sims staying on a Haunted House Residential lot rather than a normal one (or any other). Once night rolls around, you should start seeing the llittle guys floating around.

Types of Specters

There are a few different types of specters in the new pack. The first one you encounter is the familiar green little guy. They are friendly and harmless, and interactions with them usually go pretty well.

Another specter you may encounter is red and appears to be angry. These guys love to cause mischief and terrify the Sims around them. Interactions don’t go too well with them most of the time, and they negatively impact Sims that are nearby. Also, they can go from 0 to 100 real quick… Stay away unless you want to risk being set on fire.

The last type of specter your Sims are likely to encounter is a blue, sad-looking one. These guys sulk about but seem pretty neutral. Interactions lead to mixed results, so they’re not safe or dangerous necessarily. We can’t help but feel bad for those little sad eyes!

Interacting With Specters

When you click on a Specter, you’re faced with a few different options. The first one reads “Attempt Communication.” If you select this option, your Sim will do just that –attempt to converse with the spooky specter. If this goes well, your Sim will be happy and so will the specter. If not, a negative mood will be inflicted upon your poor Sim (or worse, the angry specters can set things on fire.

The next option is “Offer Soul.” If you select this, your Sim will feel pretty bad about giving their soul away, but they also have a chance of getting a small item in return from the specter (earbuds, for instance). To replenish your Sim’s soul, you can also have them talk to Guidry and say that they sold their soul. He will give your Sim “soul scraps.”

Specters also sometimes leave these behind, so keep an eye out. If eaten, your Sim’s soul will be as good as restored and they’ll be content.

The third option is “Present Offering…” which you need a handmade item crafted by your Sim for. If you gift them something like this, they can give you something in return.

The final option is to “Watch Specter” and this is exactly how it sounds. Your Sim will observe the little guy in his not-so-natural habitat. This is how your Sim learns about the specter, its habits, and its intentions.
