If you’re like many Xbox Series X and Series S owners, you’re chomping at the bit to dive into a game on your console. The only problem is that you need to add or update your credit card information, and the system’s interface gives you a heck of a time doing so. Worry not though, because we’re here to help with a guide on how to add and change your credit card on Xbox Series X and Series S.
How to Add and Change Your Credit Card on Xbox Series X and Series S
To add and change your credit card on Xbox Series X and Series S, you’ll need to access a specific portion of the settings menu; specifically, the Payment and Billing tab.
To get there, you’ll first need to open up the main menu. This is the menu you’re taken to when booting up the console or when you press the Xbox button. From there, scroll over to the Settings tab, select it, and then scroll down to the Account option.
Choose this tab, and you’ll then be given some more tabs to select related to your Xbox account. Payment and Billing will be one such option. Select it, and you’ll then see all of your currently added credit cards and the option to add a new payment method if you have an existing Xbox account.
If you’re setting up an account from scratch, then the option to add a new payment method will be all that you see.
From there, you can add in the info for whichever credit card you want to link to your account and set it up so that said card can be either the account charged for purchases or just an account on file.
How to Delete a Credit Card From Your Account
Likewise, you can delete credit cards from your Xbox Series X and Series S accounts from this same menu.
While viewing the cards currently on file for your account, you can select a card to bring up options related to it. One will be to delete it from your account. Select this, and after a few prompts verifying you wish to remove it, it’ll be stricken from your list of accounts that can be charged through your console.
It’s worth noting, however, that you need at least one payment method on file for your account. as such, you won’t be able to delete your credit card’s information from the console if it’s the only card on file.
