Witnessing a Ghost Event in Phasmophobia

As you’re exploring the map in Phasmophobia, you’ll get hints of ghost activity and interactions. These can come in the form of closing doors, lights flickering on and off, and of course, ghost writing in a journal if that’s one of the available pieces of evidence for the ghost type you’re dealing with.

However, none of these will count towards the optional objective of witnessing a ghost event in the game. From our experience, there are only two specific things that will allow you to fulfill the objective.

The first is by interacting with the ghost with an ouija board. The ouija boards have a random chance of spawning on every map and they’re not guaranteed to show up. If you do find one, though, you can ask the ghost a question and it’ll respond by moving the metal piece around.

Regardless of the type, all ghosts will respond to ouija board questions, so if you get the ghost event objective, this is a good way to clear it. However, each failed question will drop your sanity, so be aware of that.

The other way to witness the ghost event is to actually see the ghost itself. Once the ghost becomes active, and as more time passes on the map, you’ll have a higher chance of seeing its physical form. It doesn’t only show up during a hunt, and can also appear randomly as you’re exploring.

When you see it, you’ll be able to clear the objective, and this is also a good opportunity to snap a picture of it for extra money. Only one teammate needs to witness the event for it to count towards the objective.

That’s all you need to know about how to witness a ghost event in Phasmophobia. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
