Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost 2020 is here and with it comes a host of spoooOOooky activities for players to participate in. All in all, it’s mostly the same as last year with a few new… grindy twists. But there is one very new item, called the Ascendant Lens, that is leaving players a bit perplexed. Here’s how to get the Ascendant Lens in Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost 2020 event.
How to Get Ascendant Lens in Destiny 2
Similar to the toothbrush and last year’s Spider Vision, there are a few quirky things you can unlock in Festival of the Lost 2020. In order to get this year’s version, the Ascendant Lens, you’ll first need to collect 45 Cipher Decoders.
This task, under current drop rates, is not something that most players will complete overnight. You’re either going to have to grind like a madman or play consistently every day to get 45 Cipher Decoders before the event ends. Also, you’ll need to spend time actually completing Haunted Forest runs to use all 45 decoders which is part of the process for getting the Ascendant Lens.
The best way right now to farm them for most people is to get a squad of three players and burn through Nightmare Hunts or Strikes as quickly as possible.
Once you’ve done all that, Spider will summon you to the Tangled Shore. For all of your grinding, he will reward you with the Ascendant Lens and you’ll also unlock the Through the Looking Glass triumph.
As of this writing, what the Ascendant Lens actually does is a complete mystery. Is it a joke like the toothbrush or is it the key to unlocking Wish 15? Your guess is as good as ours as of right now. I’d hang onto it for now if I were you.
Thanks to Rick Kackis of KackisHD for finding the Ascendant Lens and also sharing what came of his efforts.
