How to Get & Change Skins in Crash 4

To start, there are two ways to get skins in Crash 4.

The first is to obtain all six gems for a given level. This is done by completing challenges tied to each level, which range from breaking every crate found within the level to clearing the level from start to finish without dying more than three times.

Note that these are different from other challenges you can complete for each level, like the Time Trials and the N.Verted variants of stages, and are far easier to complete.

Likewise, these challenges are the same for each level in the game, so you won’t have to worry about figuring out what each level’s challenges are.

Once all six have been completed, you’ll be rewarded with a new skin that you can apply to your desired character as you see fit.

How to Redeem Timed Exclusive and Special Skins

The other method for unlocking skins in Crash 4 is to redeem timed exclusive and special skins.

Available to those on certain consoles or those who have an Activision account, these skins are currently reserved as special rewards or bonuses to entice players to buy the game on certain platforms or sign up for different services.

They’re easy to unlock too. All you need to do is boot up the game, and if you’re playing on the correct console or on one signed into an Activision account, then it will automatically be added to your suite of character cosmetic choices.

How to Apply Skins to Characters in Crash 4

As for how you’re supposed to apply the skins you unlock to characters in Crash 4, it’s fairly easy to accomplish.

All you need to do is press Triangle on PS4 or Y on Xbox One to open up the Skins menu while on the map. From there, you can pick from whatever skins you have for the character you’re currently using.
