Genshin Impact is finally here, and with it a stylish and imaginative experience for players to dive into. Or at least, they can so long as they’re playing on PlayStation 4, PC or mobile. If you’re an Xbox One owner, you’re likely watching all the fun take place and wondering: Is Genshin Impact coming to Xbox One?
Well, for better or worse, we have an answer for you.
Is Genshin Impact Coming to Xbox One? Answered
To put it bluntly, no, Genshin Impact is not coming to Xbox One.
This is based on comments given by the game’s developer, MiHoYo, during an interview with Game Rant. When asked whether the game would be releasing on next-gen consoles and the current Xbox console, it had a pretty clear-cut answer.
“We have plans regarding next-gen consoles, and we will be announcing them as these plans take shape,” MiHoYo said. “We do not currently have plans to release the game on Xbox.”
It’s a bit unfortunate if you were hoping to play the game on Xbox One, but it’s also far from unusual. This console generation has seen plenty of titles restricted to certain platforms, and that trend doesn’t look to be changing as we move into the next console generation either.
Will the Game Ever Receive a Port for the Xbox One?
As for whether Genshin Impact might receive a port somewhere down the line, the chances are slim.
Given that the developer hasn’t planned any sort of port at this point, it means they would have to put time and resources into developing one from scratch, should they change their minds. Not only that, but demand would have to be high enough from Xbox One owners for the port to be viable and worth the time investment.
It’s not completely out of the realm of possibility, but if you can help it, you’d be better served hoping onto the game via one of its currently available platforms.
