For instance, you could get into crafting and gathering and discover just how deep that rabbit hole goes. Getting Pummelite in FFXIV
Pummelite is a resource that you can mine in the game, and you probably won’t be making much use of it, except for when you need to get some for the Miner quest at level 70. Unlike most of the other regular resources in FFXIV, you can’t simply get Pummelite from hitting rocks in the game.
Instead, you can only obtain it from an unspoiled node, which means that it’ll only be available during a certain time of day in-game. Specifically, Pummelite can only be found at the Peaks area in the Stormblood expansion. In addition to that, the node will only spawn at 8 a.m. or 8 p.m. in-game time. It’ll be available for an hour, but once the clock hits 9, it’ll despawn and you’ll need to wait for the next spawn time.
At 8, head over to the coordinates X:26.5, Y:12.9 at the Peaks to find the unspoiled node and mine it. Do note that your Miner needs to be at level 70 and have a perception stat of around 690 to be able to even detect the Pummelite. As long as you meet those requirements, you should be able to mine it without any issue.
Once you have it, you can then turn it in to complete your job quest and be done with that.
