Battletoads: How to Change Difficulty

Here is everything you need to know about how to change difficulty in Battletoads.

How to Change Difficulty in Battletoads

At the start menu, you can choose between three different difficulties: Tadpole, Toad, and Battletoad.

The first two difficulties, Tadpole and Toad, are obviously easier, making your attacks stronger and your enemy’s health lower. These two also feature the ability to be invisible for a period of time.

Battletoad difficulty does not have this feature and its bars are pretty much maxed out when it comes to the difficulty. While it may not be as unbalanced as the original, keep in mind that this difficulty level is pretty brutal, so be sure you want to challenge yourself before picking it.

Cycle through the three difficulties during the start screen and see which one fits you best. All you have to do then is select the difficulty and start the game.

It is important to note that difficulty can only be changed when starting a new game. This means that if you want to change difficulty in the middle of your playthrough, you’ll have to start a brand-new game, losing all of your progress as a result.

Time needed: 1 minute
