First of all, we get the reveal of the Japanese release date. The game is coming for PS4, Nintendo Switch on December 3.

The PC version via Steam will come in January 2021. If precedents are an indication, that may also be the release window for the west (normally it coincides with the Steam release), even if it has not been announced today.

Secondly, we get the introduction of three characters. Tao Mongarten and Bos Brunnen are returning from the previous game.

They’ve both traveled to the capital in order to study abroad. Tai has grown quite tall in the three years passed since the first game, and his looks don’t get him bullied anymore.

He has always liked to read by himself, but the capital has so much to see that it inspires him to spend more time outside exploring.

Bos has since become Tao’s friend and they spend a lot of time together. He is studying hard so that he can be a suitable heir to his family.

Serri Claus is a brand new character even if she may feel similar to Lila from the first game since they’re both Oren.

She is traveling the world to collect various plant specimens and she offers Ryza her help in exploring the ruins. She has a calm and open personality.  For some reason, she is drawn to Ryza.

We also get to see the two special editions priced respectively 11,935 yen, 26,873 yen, plus a Premium Box with collectibles (but no game) for 3,355 yen.

Last, but not least, we take a look at the art used for the traditional retailer-specific bonuses that Japanese gamers love, which usually are tapestries, posters, clear files, and similar physical items

As usual, the art is absolutely lovely, making them prized collectibles among the fans.

Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is coming this winter for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. We already know that a Japanese release date will be announced tomorrow.

In case you missed it, you can enjoy the original announcement and a trailer with the first gallery of screenshots.
