Changing Difficulty in CrossCode

As you’re playing through the game, you’ll run into plenty of real-time action combat encounters where you have to dodge attacks accordingly and retaliate whenever the opportunity presents itself. You’ll also be exploring dungeons where you’ll have to solve environmental puzzles in order to progress. The good news is that these two aspects can be adjusted to your liking, and this basically ensures that you won’t be stuck at any part of the game.

At the start of the game, a prompt lets you know that the game is designed around challenge. However, if things ever get too tough, it’s possible to adjust the difficulty to make it more manageable for yourself.

Press the + button to bring up the pause menu, then choose Options. From here, use the L and R buttons to head over to the Assists tab, and you’ll be able to adjust the sliders to change the difficulty. You can choose to make the combat easier while keeping the puzzle difficulty up, or vice versa. This allows you to tailor the gameplay experience to your liking, and play it however you like.

If you ever feel like things are getting too hard or too easy, you can hop back into the options menu at any time to readjust the settings. There’s no bearing on the story, so you should just adjust it however you want.

That’s all you need to know about how to change difficulty in CrossCode. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
