Persona 4 was released to critical acclaim on the PS2, and Persona 4 Golden was praised for its additional story content and gameplay improvements when it released for the PS Vita a few years later. Fast forward to 2020, and the game is finally available to PC players, complete with all the improvements and upscaled graphics as well. Here’s how to get the Red Goldfish in Persona 4 Golden.
Getting the Red Goldfish in Persona 4 Golden
The Red Goldfish is a type of fish that you can catch in Samegawa Riverbank, and it’s a required item in a couple of quests that you’ll encounter in Persona 4 Golden.
First off, to catch the Red Goldfish, you’ll need the fishing rod and you can check out our guide here for the exact steps on how to get it. After that, you’ll be able to start getting bread crumbs from the lady at Shiroku Pub.
Bread crumbs are used for fishing and they can help attract the Red Goldfish specifically at the Samegawa Riverbank.
Alternatively, it’s also possible to purchase a Red Goldfish pack via Tanaka’s Sunday shopping show, but it’s incredibly easy to miss and trying to catch them yourself at the river is much more reliable anyway.
What They’re For
There are a couple of quests in Persona 4 Golden that require a Red Goldfish. The first is for the lady in white who appears at Tatsuhime Shrine at night; giving her the fish will reward you with gems, which can then be exchanged for items and weapons at the Shiroku Pub.
They’re also required for one of the cat quests later on, when you’ll need to show a “cute fish” to an NPC so that he can get over his fear of fish and cats.
That’s all you need to know about how to get the Red Goldfish in Persona 4 Golden. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
